(Feb. 1, 2018) – Shell Point Retirement Community continues the Concerts & Conversations program of its 2017-2018 Concert Series with a performance by Vega String Quartet at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 15 in the Grand Cypress Room at The Woodlands at Shell Point, 15101 Shell Point Blvd. in Fort Myers. As part of the Concerts & Conversations program, guests can enjoy fellowship and a dessert reception with the Vega String Quartet following the concert. The Vega String Quartet, Quartet-in-Residence at Emory University, is cultivating a new generation of chamber music lovers through dynamic performances and innovative community engagement.

This ensemble has toured both nationally and internationally, delivering high profile performances throughout Asia, Europe, and North America. Major projects include the complete cycle of Beethoven quartets; pairing Bach’s complete works for solo violin, viola, and cello with the six Bartók quartets; and developing a series of Jazz Meets Classics programs, bringing two popular genres together.

The Vega Quartet has also won numerous international awards, including an award from the Bordeaux String Quartet Competition, as well as top prizes from the Coleman Chamber Ensemble Competition and the National Society of Arts and Letters String Quartet Competition.
