NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. (Jan. 15, 2020)—The Shell Factory & Nature Park will host its 18th Annual Gumbo Fest on Sunday, January 26th from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Located at 16554 N. Cleveland Avenue in North Fort Myers, the festival proceeds will benefit the Nature Park & Environmental Education Foundation.
 
Sponsored by Sam Galloway Ford, the event features free admission, a variety of festival food, a $5,000 reverse raffle and live entertainment by Dwayne Dopsie & the Zydeco Hellraisers, as well as The Porchdogs. With something to do for everyone, the Shell Factory & Nature Park’s other attractions will also be open including the Nature Park, Close Encounters, bumper boats, video arcade, mini golf and zip line just to name a few. New this year, children and adults can enjoy a carousel ride for $1. Also, one child admission is free to the Nature Park with a paid adult or senior admission. B1039s Big Mama and the Wild Bunch will be on hand to help celebrate the festivities.

A 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, the Nature Park & Environmental Education Foundation funds the transportation for its field trip program with Lee County Schools, which allows classes to visit the Nature Park and participate in environmental learning experiences. The foundation’s mission is to provide a permanent home, nutritious meals, and daily and veterinary care for all inhabitants, as well as motivate guests to appreciate the natural environment.
