Almost 48,000 people died of opioid overdoses at the last annual count.
– The number of children entering foster care due to drug abuse has more than doubled since 2000.
– Children entering foster care due to parental drug use were more likely to be 5 years or younger, white, and from the southern region of the US.
– The SWFL Free Pain Clinic is the ONLY free pain clinic in Florida – the only one we are aware of in the entire United States – providing free pain treatment without the use of opioids or other controlled substances to the low-income, uninsured in our community.
