DATE: Saturday, September 24, 2022

The PFC Paul E. Ison Detachment (#060) of the Marine Corps League, Cape Coral, Lee County, Florida will hold a fundraising event called Mission Possible for PTSD awareness and Suicide Prevention. The event is designed to raise awareness in our community for veterans of all branches of the armed forces who have returned from different areas of conflict. Some veterans are now suffering from PTSD and other mental illnesses which have led to the increase of Veteran suicides across the globe. Since 2006 there has been an 86% increase in the male suicide rate ages 18 to 34 years old according to StopSoliderSuicide.org.

The League’s first Mission Possible for PTSD Awareness and Suicide Prevention event will take place on September 24, 2022, starting at 11:00 am at the Millennial Brewing Company, Fort Myers, Florida and is open to the public along with all past and present service members and their families. An Honor Guard and Flag Folding Demonstration will be held by the VFW at 12:00 PM. 50/50 Raffles and a Silent Auction will be held on-site, and Millennial Brewing will donate 10% of all food and beverage purchased on September 24th to the Marine Corps League.

The mission of the Marine Corps League is to promote the interest and to preserve traditions of the United States Marine Corps; strengthen the fraternity of Marines and their families; serve Marines and FMF Navy Personnel who wear or who have worn the Eagle, Globe and Anchor; and foster the ideals of Americanism and patriotic volunteerism.

On behalf of the PFC Paul E. Ison Detachment 060 of the Marine Corps League, we appreciate your support for our Veterans and would invite you to attend and share details about this worthy cause.
