VIP RECEPTION PLANNED FOR RADIO EVANGELIST DR. TONY EVANS

FORT MYERS, FLA., February 10, 2020– A special VIP reception is planned for Radio Evangelist Dr. Tony Evans,  who will be the guest speakers at Lifeline Family Center’s Annual Benefit Dinner Thursday, March 12.
About 800 community leaders are expected to attend the annual benefit dinner at McGregor Baptist Church on Colonial Boulevard in Fort Myers.  Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the dinner begins at 6:30 p.m.
Tickets to the VIP reception with Evans are available from $1,000 for four people and include dinner.  Tickets without the VIP reception are $90 each or $560 for a table of eight.  Tickets may be purchased by calling 239-242-7238.
Lifeline Family Center also announced that former News-Press Engagement Editor Tom Hayden will be the master of ceremonies.  Testimony will be given by Christy Sawyer with music provided by Sarah Dodge.

Dr. Evans is the founder and senior pastor of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, Tex., and president of The Urban Alternative, chaplain of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks, and author of more than 100 books, booklets and Bible studies.
His radio broadcast, The Alternative with Dr. Tony Evans, can be heard on more than 1,200 United States outlets daily, including Moody Radio, and in more than 130 countries.
He is the first African American to earn a doctorate of theology from Dallas Theological Seminary and has been named one of the 12 Most Effective Preachers in the English-speaking world by Baylor University.
Dr. Evans launched the Tony Evans Training Center in 2017, an online learning platform providing quality seminary-style courses for a fraction of the cost to any person in any place.  His goal is to increase Bible literacy not only among lay people but also among those Christian leaders who cannot afford nor find the time for formal ongoing education.
Lifeline Family Center provides a home in Cape Coral for homeless young women in crisis pregnancies to help them become self-supporting through education, job training, parenting classes, professional counseling and spiritual guidance. It is the only residential program in Lee County for homeless young women in crisis pregnancies who are not part of the foster care program.
In the residential program, Lifeline Family Center serves up to 12 young women, ages 16 to 25, and up to 24 babies at a time. In the Outreach Ministry program, more than 6,000 women have received assistance with material needs, adoption counseling and resource referrals. The non-profit also operates a 24/7 Pregnancy Helpline, provides free pregnancy tests, free ultrasounds by appointment, and does outreach to all areas of Lee County, including all college campuses.

Local PR chapter announces call for entries for Image Awards

FORT MYERS, Fla. (February 11, 2020) –  The Southwest Florida Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association is accepting submissions for its 2020 Local Image Awards competition. Local Image Awards are held annually and recognize the best public relations, communications and marketing efforts in Southwest Florida during the past year.  The contest is open to FPRA members and non-members as well as students. Winners will be announced at the Local Image Awards dinner on April 23. Entries must be received no later than 11:59 p.m. on Friday, March 6, on the FPRA Image Awards website at FPRAImage.org.
The competition includes four divisions: Public Relations Programs, Printed Tools of Public Relations, Digital Tools of Public Relations and Student Projects in Public Relations. Within these divisions are multiple categories. Submissions for awards must be presented in a detailed and specific format, as directed by the Call for Entries. The 2020 Call for Entries can be viewed in full from the Recognition page at www.fpraswfl.org.
The local FPRA chapter Image Awards competition is the precursor to FPRA’s Golden Image Awards where the winners participate in a state-wide competition. Entries can vary from a print brochure, commercial, website and viral video to a full public relations campaign. Winners will be evaluated based on evidence of sound research and planning as well as having met the highest standard of production, execution and evaluation of results and budget.

2020 date announced for Shine, a benefit for Hope Hospice Signature event will take place Oct. 16 at Edison & Ford Winter Estates

FORT MYERS, Fla. (Feb. 10, 2020) – Hope Healthcare announces the second annual Shine benefit for Hope Hospice will take place Friday, Oct. 16 at 5 p.m. at the historic Edison & Ford Winter Estates in Fort Myers. State Senator Lizbeth Benacquisto and attorney Jenna Persons will return to serve as co-chairs for the elegant event featuring riverside cocktails, dining, entertainment and a live auction.
More than 250 guests attended the inaugural event in October 2019, which raised $440,000 to benefit the Hope Kids Care program. This year’s fundraiser will support Hope’s mission to provide comforting care and support to everyone living with serious illness.
“For forty years, Hope has been a safety net for our community, serving those who are newly born, seniors who have reached 113 years old and everyone in between,” said Samira K. Space remains for Greater Fort Myers Chamber’s Twins & Pinz bowling fundraiser on Feb. 16

FORT MYERS, Fla. (Feb. 7, 2020) – Registration is still available for the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce’s annual Twins & Pinz bowling fundraiser on Feb. 16, offering opportunities to bowl a strike alongside players and representatives of the Minnesota Twins.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce Foundation, which supports the Chamber’s efforts to enhance education and professional development at a variety of levels within Southwest Florida. Throughout its history, the Foundation has contributed over $600,000 to benefit educational programs and initiatives across Southwest Florida thanks to funds provided from Chamber membership dues and a variety of fundraising events, including Twins & Pinz.

Twins & Pinz will take place on Sunday, Feb. 16 at HeadPinz, 14513 Global Parkway in Fort Myers. Check-in begins at 4 p.m. and play will run from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

A limited number of team and individual spots remain. Registration is $500 per six-person team, $700 per corporate team or $125 per individual bowler, and includes bowling shoes rental, pizza and soda, and a chance to bowl with a Minnesota Twins player or representative.

Fort Myers, FL, Feb. 6, 2020 – Local business and community professionals from throughout Lee County gathered on Friday, Jan. 31 to recognize outgoing Horizon Council board members, welcome new
officers to the council and Horizon Foundation and hear keynote speaker, Larry Burns, author, “Autonomy: The Quest to Build the Driverless Car—And How It Will Reshape Our World.”
The annual event attracted over 350 people to Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre in Fort Myers. Christopher Spiro was introduced as the 2020 Horizon Council Chair, succeeding Dan Eveloff, who now becomes the
2020 Horizon Foundation President. Outgoing Horizon Foundation President Wayne Kirkwood was honored for his three terms as president. Founding Horizon Council members, past Horizon Council Chairs and Lee County Economic Development Director John Talmage were all recognized during the event for their service to Lee County.
