Marketing manager to promote BIG ARTS and its many performances, art exhibits, films, lectures, events, and educational activities. Position also includes coordinating some events and assisting with others.

BIG ARTS on beautiful Sanibel Island is looking for a marketing manager to join its terrific team and to be an integral part of BIG ARTS extraordinary success. BIG ARTS, the cultural jewel of Sanibel and Captiva, has just built a stunning new building to host its array of programming which includes nationally recognized performing artists, creative workshops, thought provoking lecture series, intriguing film series, and fine arts exhibits in the beautiful gallery. Employee benefits include a generous PTO program and medical, dental and vision insurance. This position reports to the Marketing Director and includes the following scope of responsibilities:

  1. Write rough drafts of press releases for marketing director and submit to outlets timely.
  2. Coordinate approximately 1-2 public events throughout the year and provide support to other team members’ events.
  3. Coordinate with printers on price, deadlines, cost, and quality of all print collateral materials: small brochures, signs, etc.
  4. Monitor / oversee budget approved by management for cost containment.
  5. Write yearly deadline production sheet for all events in coordination with Marketing Director.
  6. Track ticket sales and be able to offer strategic and creative ideas for promotion.
  7. Offer creative ideas and posts on social media to produce quantifiable improvement, growth, and impact.
  8. Work with BIG ARTS gift shop management team to promote their seasonal sales program.

BIG ARTS has in place professional strategic creative leadership and support across all collateral material, including but not limited to video and print production, creative concept, script writing, shooting, and editing, as well as graphic design and copywriting; for all collateral material; website tech and programming support; database management and reporting. However, the person in this position will be encouraged to learn and grow in these some of these areas and will be compensated accordingly for increased responsibility and successful growth.

Priority skills required are close and consistent attention to detail, good excellent written and verbal communications skills, efficient and timely coordination of small events, the ability to develop close relationships with radio, TV and print outlet writers and editors—both local and regional — to actively pitch stories and creative ideas to promote BIG ARTS; the ability to do “surface” website (non-programming) updates.

Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite:  WORD, Excel, PowerPoint; Constant Contact; and WordPress web platform template.
