HURRICANE SEMINAR OFFERED AT THE SHELL FACTORY
June 27 Seminar to Feature Help
For North Fort Myers Residents
A comprehensive hurricane seminar is being offered by The Shell Factory, North Fort Myers, on Tuesday, June 27. The 10:00 a.m. program will feature John Patrick, chief meteorologist at ABC-7, and representatives of the Red Cross, Lee County Emergency Management, and Fireservice. The program, being held in the Dolphin Room, is free to the public. Parking is also free.
Participants will be offered a special $7.95 buffet luncheon at Capt’n Fishbones, free Nature Park passes for the family, and door prizes. Home Depot and Storm Smart will also have table displays that feature hurricane preparedness items. Pre-registration is not required.
Speakers will cover topics such as what a hurricane is, whether to evacuate, flood damage and storm surge, shelters, how to prepare a hurricane kit, what happens after a hurricane, and insurance needs. Participants will be provided with a variety of printed materials which will be invaluable in preparing for a hurricane. Hurricane season is in effect from now until November 30.
