March 15, 2018 – Fort Myers, FL – Experience the power of student artwork! This April, “Border(less)” opens in downtown Fort Myers, featuring Florida Southwestern State College art students. Take part in this exciting exhibition from some of Southwest Florida’s brightest young artists, opening Friday, April 6th! The Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center is located at 2301 First St. in the historic downtown Fort Myers River District.
The “Border(less)” exhibition is a collection of work from a portfolio painting course and a conceptual art class. The broad notion of “Borders/Bordered/Borderless” was explored in its suggestion of inclusion/exclusion, the contained and the contiguous, the native, the neighboring, and the nomadic. Students worked with these themes when preparing their pieces for the “Border(less)” exhibition, opening during April’s Art Walk in 2nd floor the Capital Gallery at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center. Additionally, enjoy another great opening in the 1st floor Grand Atrium, A℞T – Art by Physicians.
Enjoy Borders(less), an inspiring art opening, featuring student artists Amy Boomgaard, Joshann Burdick, Martha Delacruz, Peter Engdahl, Alejandro Gomez, Holly Hagan, Alyssa Hartford, Dalton Howard, Lewesa Major, Shannon O’Regan, Grant Syllaba, Jose Vanegas, and Barbara Ann Wikoff. “Border(less)” was organized by Dana Roes at Florida Southwestern State College.
