Storytelling Series: Stories of April Fools and Tall Tales

Saturday, April 16 • What’s a tall tale? Come and find out the truth. Our tellers get up on stage and tell stories as tall as the sky and as wide as the ocean. That’s a pretty big story! Storytellers of the Round Table and The Elephant Showcase Storytellers bring you stories in the oral tradition. Captivating, spellbinding, and entertaining and featuring featuring Dr. Joel Ying, Mary Lou Williams, Lisa Leonhardt and Pamela Minton.

Introduction to Colored Pencils Workshop (Ages 18+)

Saturday, April 30 • This introductory class will teach the beginner how to use colored pencils to create beautiful works of art. The Instructor/Artist will provide all materials for this class, allowing you to try out this versatile medium before investing in your own supplies.

Collage and Mixed Media (Ages 16+)

Monday, May 2 – 23 • In this four week course, students will be exposed to various mixed media techniques with an emphasis on collage. This will be a fun and experimental class for anyone who wants to try but doesn’t know how to go about it. The first two weeks will be experimental in nature as students explore these techniques and discover what works best for them. The second two weeks will be focused on putting these techniques together and completing at least one work of art.

Opening Reception: May 6 from 5 – 7 p.m. • See it first. See it free. This event is open to the public. Come meet your neighbors at this free event!

Exhibits May 6 – 28 • The power of two: commanding forces in painting and self-expression, these two lovebirds make the perfect pair! Krista and Leo Johnson combine primitivism and modernist figure painting to form a cumulative vision that delights with splendor and discovery. Join us in the gallery this month as we celebrate the work of these two amazing artists which make the perfect DUO.

LUNAFEST (Virtual + In Person)

Friday, May 13 • LunaFest celebrates a powerful and diverse set of women filmmakers and helps expose their short films to a national platform. LunaFest has empowered and shared the work of more than 170 women filmmakers giving them the opportunity to tell their stories and opening the door for filmmakers who might not otherwise be given the chance to show their art.
