As summer approaches, most in the travel and tourism industry, you would think, are taking a deep sigh of relief after a very busy tourism season. In actuality, most are taking no time to slow down, keeping on pace to ensure 2017 is more successful than 2016. That applies to the volunteers who support the Southwest Florida Attractions Association.
Every year, the volunteer board of directors pushes itself to use membership dollars and grant dollars to provide unique advertising, advantageous trade show opportunities and excellent networking programs. The Southwest Florida Attractions Association (SWFAA) promotes regionally. We are not just Lee, Collier or Charlotte County – we are Lee, Collier AND Charlotte Counties and we are proud to promote the entire region of southwest Florida.
Travelers see no borders. They want an immersive experience and each county in our region offers something unique. In Charlotte County, get on the water, fish, walk or bike the parks, or take in a wildlife, nature or history tours! Collier County invites you to enjoy the 10,000 islands, fish, birding, and of course the beaches. Lee County wants you paddling the Calusa Blueway, shelling on the beaches, enjoying the local delicacies and taking in the history and culture. While they all sound similar – you can paddle in each county and experience a new magic each time. You can fish anywhere – but each location has a captain who will take you to new places for new adventures. You see, regional promotion is where it’s at!
Southwest Florida is the premier destination for travelers in Florida and from around the world. So many times you forget how amazing our entire destination really is… until you interact at one of our meetings and see the diversity of attendees or speak to a guest who is completely captivated with where we get to live! That’s right – we get to live, work and play in southwest Florida!
So while, I should be taking my advice from above to take a break, I offer you this blog and will immediately go on to my next project. I hope I provided you a fun glimpse at how amazing the tourism industry remains today and how I hope to see you at a future SWFAA tradeshow, special event or just check out our website (www.swflattractions.com) and see all the great things to do throughout Southwest Florida.
Now, off to my next project J
