Community Cooperative’s Soup-er Bowl Food Drive Kicks Off to Tackle Hunger
FORT MYERS, Fla. (January 21, 2026) – Community Cooperative’s annual Soup-er Bowl food drive is officially underway, and Southwest Florida is stepping up in a big way. Local businesses, organizations, and individuals are showing their team spirit by collecting canned goods—and making financial contributions—to help tackle hunger in our community just in time for Super Bowl season.
Running through February 6, the Soup-er Bowl challenge aims to collect enough canned soups, chilis, and broths to match the weight of two competing NFL offensive lines—3,500 pounds of food. But just like winning the Big Game, meeting this goal takes a full team effort. Community Cooperative is calling on partners, fans, and neighbors to make a game-changing play by donating food and funds.
The final drop-off and official weigh-in will take place on Friday, February 6, at Community Cooperative, located at 3429 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33916. Every donated item—and every dollar contributed—directly supports Community Cooperative’s mission to end hunger and homelessness in Southwest Florida. Financial gifts are especially impactful, allowing the nonprofit to purchase fresh food, stretch resources further, and meet urgent needs throughout the year.
“We are inspired by the way our community comes together through this fun and meaningful competition,” said Kim Mohammed, Development Manager at Community Cooperative. “Whether you’re collecting cans, making a financial donation, or doing both, every contribution helps ensure our neighbors have access to nutritious food when they need it most.”
Participants are encouraged to collect canned goods in honor of the team they’re rooting for. The Soup-er Bowl winner will be announced following the weigh-in, which will also serve as a playful prediction of which team will take home the Super Bowl title.
There’s still time to get in the game. Join the Soup-er Bowl, show your team pride, and make a lasting impact by donating food, making a financial gift, or organizing a collection drive. Donations can be made online at CommunityCooperative.com. Together, we can score a win for our community and ensure no neighbor goes hungry.
