It is truly an honor to lead the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce for the 2016-2017 year. Our immediate past-president, Dean Piccirillo of HBKS Wealth Advisors, provided exceptional guidance throughout his term and I thank him for his leadership. As a result of his efforts, the Chamber begins this new year on a positive track, focused on serving its 900+ member businesses. Dean’s passion for the community, his ability to communicate and connect enabled the Chamber to continue to raise its profile. I am excited to build on the foundation of his accomplishments.
Our primary “Strategic Streams” for the next three years were developed as a result of your responses to our recent Chamber Survey. Those are:
- Membership Engagement
- Chamber/Community Relations
- Community Involvement
This year our specific goal areas in support of those strategic streams will be:
- Membership Advocacy
- Small Business Focus
Collectively, these goal areas serve as the foundation of the Chamber’s efforts undertaken on behalf of our members to support and promote a progressive and sustainable community. Throughout the year, you will be hearing more about the objectives and strategies that we are undertaking in support of each goal area.
I look forward to working closely with Chamber Executive Director Colleen DePasquale, her incredibly talented team, the dedicated volunteers who make up our Board of Directors and committees and the full Chamber membership. I’m eager to keep the momentum going, to build on a great Chamber legacy and to make a difference that will last for years to come.
I sincerely appreciate your membership and engagement with the Chamber and encourage you to display your Chamber member decal, proudly, and to keep doing business with other Chamber members. The future is bright, and we are looking forward to a year filled with new business, new jobs, new relationships and new opportunities for our community.
