BUY TICKETS Back by popular demand, the Jazz Collective shares another night of original music written by the Jazz Collective and its friends. Returning to the stage will be Zach Bornheimer on saxophone and LaRue Nickelson on guitar. You’ll hear compositions of Jazz Collective members Zach Bartholomew (piano) Brandon Robertson (bass) and the Collective’s Artistic Director Paul Gavin (drums), as well as Zach’s and LaRue’s original work. This show is the true tradition of Jazz. Original works, performed for an enthusiastic audience, by the composers who wrote them. MEET YOUR MUSICIANS PAUL GAVIN Drums, Director of Gulf Coast Jazz Collective Paul Gavin is a Drummer, Teacher, Composer & Arranger in Tampa, FL. Since graduating from the University of South Florida in 2015 Paul has made his living exclusively as a freelance musician. MORE INFO BRANDON ROBERTSON Bass In 2009, he graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a focus on Jazz Studies. In the same year, Brandon became a member of the popular Florida-based jazz trio The Zach Bartholomew Trio. MORE INFO ZACH BARTHOLOMEW Piano Dr. Zach Bartholomew is an award-winning jazz pianist, composer, and music educator. He is currently based in Miami, FL where he maintains an active performance career as one of the most heavily sought-after pianists, accompanists, and sidemen in the area. MORE INFO ZACHARY BORNHEIMER Saxophone Jazz composer and saxophonist Zachary Bornheimer’s lyrical improvisations and melody-driven compositions have sparked international and national intrigue with performances in Florida, Chicago, Italy, France, England, and terrestrial radio. MORE INFO LARUE NICKELSON Jazz Guitar LaRue Nickelson is a jazz guitarist and composer from the Tampa Bay area. He has had a varied and diverse music career with many different groups. LaRue has played in New York, Italy, South Africa, New Orleans, Indianapolis, Montreux, and California as well as staying very busy doing festivals and clubs in the Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Orlando, and Sarasota, Florida areas.
